iRiver Clix (2GB) MP3 Player, July 10, 2006

Reviewer: Jay - See all Jay's reviews

Pros: The good: Sleek and stylish, the iRiver Clix offers a unique, intuitive interface and comes with extras such as an FM radio; a voice recorder; an alarm clock; support for OGG files and subscription content; and photo, video, and text viewing. The Clix includes SRS Wow sound effects, it has good battery life, and it's priced competitively.

Cons: The bad: The iRiver Clix's ample screen is a magnet for fingerprints, and the device maxes out at only 2GB. The cool and useful cradle is sold separately.

The bottom line: The iRiver Clix is a superbly designed MP3 player that's easy to use and packed with pretty much every feature in the book. If you're looking for a stylish Janus-compatible device and you don't need a boatload of storage, this is your player

Ipod but Better and Reasonably Priced, October 15, 2006

Pros: Features, Value, Support, Interface

Cons: Can't fit into a pocket

Had mine for nearly 5 months now, and I can say this:

Fully charged I get a good 9 hours, 12 if I don't fidget with the dials. Not bad for my personal use.

Features: So many packed into this little thing! Music, radio, pictures, movies, flash games, recorder, all of which are of respectable to very good quality. The flash games and music you can even download free off the company site - how great is that? Plus it can get media subscriptions. My only gripe is the limited movie formats/compression acceptable. Still, screen size is generous as far as mp3 flash players go. Really diggin the interface and pseudo touch screen too.

Sound is very good to great. Nuff said.

Size is about palm-sized but as thick as about 3-4 Nanos stacked. Not great for putting into back pockets and the like.

Overall: A neat little package of features that can come in handy everywhere you go. I bring it with me everywhere. So far I love it. ...

Why did I ever have an IPod?, October 14, 2006

Reviewer: First L - See all First L's reviews

Pros: Style, size, functionality, features, sound quality

Cons: Only 2 gig, can't add memory

I got this product 3 weeks ago and absolutely love it. I was hesitant to get another mp3 player after my first IPod and all of the problems I had with it, including accidentally erasing and duplicating my library with Itunes, and the cheap crappy battery, even the disk skipping. I use this product when I run on a treadmill and I absolutely love it. It is great for people to use when they are active because you work the controls by clicking the screen. This means no hunting for tiny buttons while you are on the move. It has a large display and displays album art. The GUI is easy to navigate, and I can plug it into either Rhapsody or Yahoo! music and put all of the music I want on it without having to purchase it (subscription required, of course.) I would recommend this product to anyone who likes to switch out their music frequently and is active and has a grudge against Apple. The Iriver Clix is my favorite toy. This baby rocks! ...

Clix, March 21, 2007

Reviewer: Gergely - See all Gergely's reviews

Pros: Great quality, packed with features, cool dock

Cons: Windows and Media Player 11 needed to use it

This player has all the features one should have - plays several different formats of music, plays videos and pictures, has FM radio, flash games, alarm and even text display. It has a very large screen for its size, and you can buy a dock with speakers and remote control (unfortunately it's sold separately).

Files can be transferred in Windows Explorer, but videos need to be converted (there is a simple software to do it). There is a nice user community that creates stuff like flash games, wallpapers or software.

A con is that even if you can transfer files on it using Explorer, you need Windows Media Player 11 on your PC in order to be recognized (so you can't use it on older Windows or non-Windows systems). ...

Sweet Little MP3 Player, December 1, 2006

Reviewer: nerdmojo - See all nerdmojo's reviews Pros: Design, Ease of Use, Clear LCD

Cons: Ear Buds, Battery Life, Extra Cost for Cradle

Love the design and easy navigation buttons. The menu is very intuitive also (I didn't even bother reading the manual and still was able to understand how to use it - and this is my first real MP3 player). I bought my daughter in iPod Nano for $50 more (for the 4GB model) and already, she wants mine.

I was even able to play certain DiVx AVI movie files on Clix with help from a video file converter called iriverter that iRiver website recommended. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the little thing so far. I just hope that iRiver stays in the MP3 player market... ...

The clix is the best, October 20, 2006

Reviewer: roxyfoxy978 - See all roxyfoxy978's reviews Pros: Its good

Cons: Its great

I love the U10 clix, its only the best mp3 ever the games are great and the music is the best. It holds hundreds of pictures and is so small it fits right in your pocket. I'v had one for years and i have not one scratch yet it just great. And the movies are the best part, the quality is just too good. It's worth every cent. The battery life is great it lasts for ever. It's way better than one of those ipods it has way more features i'd rate it a 10 out of 10. Come on don't wait any longer BUY ONE NOW!! ...

Great Flash Player, October 7, 2006

Reviewer: CDS - See all CDS's reviews

Pros: Size, screen, interface, subscription compatibility

Cons: Only 2GB, battery charging

All in all, the Clix is a great music player. The size and UI are a refreshing change from all the other players that are variations of the same thing. I love that the entire front of the player is just the screen - no controls. I'll be glad when iRiver increases the size to 8GB and beyond, and they fix the charging quirks (you can only charge from a PC, not from a wall outlet). ...

When it costs 99$ It will be a value, August 30, 2006

Reviewer: paisano1999 - See all paisano1999's reviews

Pros: Nice Screen, Nice Menu

Cons: Will Break Fast, Price

My friend has one of these and I dig the menu set up, and they are sort of fun to watch video cause they look like little televisions. But the files need to be converted and here is the clincher:

The only reason my friend has this player is because his work gave it to him.

The price needs to come down to be reasonable. ...
